Job Description:
- Certification Details
- AHA ONLY. RQI is acceptable.
- Please check the cost center to verify what certifications are
required. If the cost center is blank, please reach out to
[removed] and include all of the candidate's information. They will
confirm the certifications required and get the cost center
updated.
- Online Verification of License to include expiration date and
any disciplinary actions (within 30 days before start date). Must
be through primary source. IN.gov.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology exam required. Not required for
Techs or RRTS
- Unit competency exam required.
- Job Details
- Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN's to work at
their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to
start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by
11/30).
- **Periop/OR RN's, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt
from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the
11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN,
SDS**
- IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill
rate bump per hour
- First Time Travelers Accepted
- Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6
- Unit Information: 3 North is a medical-surgical unit
specializing in post-operative care of colorectal surgery
patients.
- We do care for patients who need negative-airflow rooms, so
candidates must be fit-tested for an N95 mask or trained on how to
use a PAPR device for care of these patients.
- Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers
at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however
medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's
note provided.
- Job Requirements
- Certification Requirements: BCLS
- Skillset Requirements/Preferences: Minimum 2 Years of
Experience; Level 1 Trauma Experience Preferred
- Schedule Information
- Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12
- Call-Ins: If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, the
traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay
period...
- Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per
their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may
be needed based on the greatest need
- Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse
responsibilities may be needed with provided training and
resources.
